Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously served as jury members in past editions.

DEADLINE AND DOCUMENTS

The application deadline is 24 April 2026, inclusive.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

Once selected, applicants must send the following documents to the organisation:

  • National ID (DNI), passport, or residence card (to verify nationality and date of birth).
  • Enrolment certificate or any other document that reliably proves student status at the University of Málaga (UMA) in 2026 in an official programme (it is not relevant if, by the time the festival takes place, the applicant is no longer a student).
  • A recent colour photograph of the applicant’s face for the festival catalogue.

OPTION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SHORT FILM PRE-SELECTION COMMITTEE

Among the applicants who are not selected as candidates for the Young Jury, the organisation will offer an unspecified number of them the possibility to take part in the preliminary short film selection committee. If accepted, members of this committee will carry out their work remotely in the months prior to the festival, using their own technical equipment. They must also have sufficient English proficiency (B1 level or above). Their names will be included in the catalogue of the 36th Fancine edition.

ECTS CREDITS

Both participation as a Youth Jury member and as a member of the Short Film Pre-Selection Committee will be accredited at the end of the festival, indicating the number of hours dedicated.

This participation will be included in the list of activities recognised by the University of Málaga (UMA) for the purpose of awarding credits in undergraduate programmes (ECTS credits). Credit recognition is not automatic and will require the applicant, where appropriate, to submit a formal request to the academic office of their faculty, for which the aforementioned certification will be required. The final approval or rejection of the request falls under the exclusive competence of the Comisión de Reconocimiento de Estudios (Recognition of Studies Committee) of each faculty.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The organisation will not maintain correspondence with applicants beyond what is necessary for the management of this activity. In no case will it negotiate or discuss the requirements stated herein with applicants. Submission of an application implies full acceptance of all these terms and conditions.

The Spanish version of this text will be the only valid version in case of discrepancies regarding the meaning of any of hereinabove.
